SUMMARY:Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (Asynchronous)
DESCRIPTION: \n\nThe Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) workshop 
 focuses on the QM Rubric and its use in reviewing the design of online and
  hybrid courses.\n\n \n\nLearn the underlying principles behind the QM Rub
 ric and the critical elements of the QM quality assurance process. Learn a
 bout drafting helpful recommendations as you apply the Rubric to an actual
  course.\n\nNo course of your own? No problem. This workshop is a perfect 
 fit for instructors who don’t currently have an online or hybrid course 
 to work with. You’ll use a fully developed mock course to practice apply
 ing the QM Rubric\, explore effective design strategies\, and gain practic
 al ideas you can adapt for your own teaching.\n\n Interested in becoming a
  QM-Certified Peer Reviewer? This workshop is your required first step tow
 ards Peer-Reviewer certification.\n\n \n\nThis is an online\, asynchronous
  course that runs for a three-week period between July 7 – 27. It will b
 e facilitated by Dr. Olga Mesropova\, Professor\, Department of World Lang
 uages and Cultures\, CELT faculty affiliate\, and certified QM Master Revi
 ewer. A minimum commitment of 10 – 12 hours per week is recommended for 
 achieving the learning objectives.\n\n \n\nLearning Objectives\n\n\n	Ident
 ify the origin and scope of Quality Matters.\n	Identify the critical eleme
 nts of the QM quality assurance program\, including the QM Rubric\, materi
 als\, processes\, and administrative components.\n	Apply the QM Higher Edu
 cation Rubric to review online courses.\n	Make decisions on whether the de
 mo course meets selected QM Rubric Specific Review Standards.\n	Apply the 
 concept of alignment.\n	Draft helpful recommendations for course improveme
 nt by citing Annotations from the QM Rubric and evidence from the course.\
 n\n\n \n\n
