Keeping campus safe

At the heart of this university community are faculty and staff doing excellent work every day to contribute to an Iowa State student experience that is purposeful, rich with options, inspired -- and fun. We'll profile some of them on this page, organized every few months around a topic or theme.

With this set, in January 2025, we're recognizing knowledgeable, dedicated staff members whose work largely is behind the scenes, but critical to protecting something valuable -- including our Iowa State students, employees, data and national reputation as a reliable partner.

September 2024

This set recognizes the 2024 recipients of university awards, the highest recognition Iowa State bestows on its faculty and staff for their commitment to excellence in teaching, discovery, improving the Cyclone student experience and serving Iowans. Their colleagues nominate them for their achievements. In three lists we honor all 61 individual and two team honorees. In a handful of profiles we showcase the quality of the work they do for our university.

25-year reflection

April 2024

With this set, we're recognizing a handful of the 88 loyal faculty and staff who joined Iowa State's 25 Year Club – or eclipsed another of the club's milestones. At the group's April 1 banquet, an additional 44 employees were recognized for 35 years of service and six for 45 years of service to Iowa State. Among all the hurdles they cleared and accomplishments they treasure from 25+ years, Impact inquired about one that was especially meaningful. See what they said.

One of a kind

January 2024

With this set we're recognizing five professional staff whose assignments are a bit unique, whose responsibilities are mostly unreplicated -- even on a large, land-grant campus. What they share is their zest for a good challenge and dedication to their units.

Peer recognition

September 2023

This set recognizes the 2023 recipients of university awards, the highest recognition Iowa State bestows upon its faculty and staff for their commitment to the land-grant ideals of learning, discovery and outreach. Their peers nominated them for their accomplishments. All 62 recipients are highlighted, with five featured for work that responds to the aspirational goals in Iowa State's 2022-31 strategic plan.
